Our History
Started out as a Tennis Shop, the cricket was added when Bruce Baker & Neville Mallett joined the company. Pierre Bester joined the company as a student in schools and varsity days, who then bought out Bruce and Neville in 1996 to become sole owner of Brian Bands Sports.
In 1999 we moved our location from Russell Road to our current premises in Newton park. Pierre Bester sold Brian Bands Sports to Michael Bester and John Cooney in 2017.
John joined Brian Bands Sports in 2002 and Michael Joined in 2007.
Brian Bands Sports is the 2nd oldest sports store in the country and is proud to have maintained it ethos of been an Independent Specialist Sports store.
